Services for users with mobility difficulties

University libraries are accessible from the main entrance, with lift access to upper levels. In library rooms at least one workstation for disabled users is available.

Services for sight-disabled users

Library users with sight disabilities may use a workstation with adaptive technology for their study and research. The workstation comprises text-to-speech software, speech recognition software, a scanner, a Braille printer, as well as other facilities. These reading machines are able to convert most printed material into speech, which is then recorded or converted into Braille. The workstation is also equipped with an electronic magnifier which enlarges fonts.

The service is available in the Library of Science.

Services for users with specific learning disabilities (SLD)

The library provides SLD students with two Mac computers with speech synthesis in Italian and English and other programs for daily study. The two computers can be accessed with Esse3 credentials.
